1. How to Find the Router’s IP Address Using Windows

If you’re a windows user and don’t know how to get the IP address of your router, then you can follow this tutorial to access the IP address of your router.

First of all, you need to connect your Windows laptop or desktop with the wifi network of your router, or you can also use the ethernet cable to connect your router with your device.

Once you’re connected with the router’s network, Together press the “Windows Key + R” button to open the windows run prompt. Once the run dialogue box open, type “cmd” and enter.

It will now open a black screen of the command prompt, and now you’ve to type a small command on your black screen to get the IP address of your router.

Now, Enter the “ipconfig/all” command in the given box and click on the “Enter Button” on your keyboard.

Once you hit enter, it will show you some necessary information including your IP address, your default gateway, and several other details on your screen.

Just copy the IP address shown at the default gateway and open the IP address in your browser. In my case, the default IP address to access my router is 192.168.31.1. 

So, I’ll type 192.168.31.1 in the address bar of the browser to visit my admin console of the router.

If you’re using MacOS or MacBook, then you can follow these easy steps to get the IP address of your router quickly. These steps are the same for all MacOS users and with all versions.

If the above IP addresses did not work for you, you could follow these steps to find the IP address of your router.

First of all, you need to connect your MacBook or iMac with the wifi network of your router, and when you’re connected with the router’s interface, open the “System Preference” setting.

Once you opened the “System Preference,” Click on “Network Setting” and now it’ll show the wifi network you’re connected with.

Now click on the “Wifi” option or whatever network interface you are connected through and click on the “Advanced” button in the lower right corner.

On Advanced Setting, click on the “TCP/IP” option from the top choice.

Now copy the IP address shown after the “Router,” in my case it shows 192.168.31.1. So the IP address of my router is 192.168.31.1

First of all, you need to connect with the wifi network of your router and then go to “WiFi Settings > Long Press/Tap on Wifi Network you’re connected with > Open ‘Advance Setting’ “,

Once you clicked on the advanced setting page, it will take you to the router information page where it shows you the  “IP Address, Gateway, and Several other information.” Find the IP address shown after the “gateway” setting and open it in your browser.

In my scenario, the IP address is 192.168.31.1. So, I’ll copy this IP address and open it in my browser.

4. How to Find IP Address of Router Using Linux

If you’re a Linux user and don’t know how to find the IP address of your router, then don’t worry! In this tutorial, we’re going to cover a straightforward method through which you can find the IP address of your router.

Firstly, you need to connect your Linux laptop or desktop with the wifi network of your router, or you can also use the ethernet cable to connect your router with your device.

Once you’re connected with the router’s network, Together press the “CTRL + T” button to open the terminal. It will now open a black screen of the Terminal, and now you’ve to type a small command on your black screen to get the IP address of your router.

Now, enter the “ip route | grep default” command in the given box and hit enter. It will show something “default via 192.168.31.1 dev eth0 proto static” on screen.

Just copy the IP address shown on the screen, In my case, the IP address is 192.168.31.1, I’ll copy this IP address and open it on the browser.
